Blessing to ya'll from Alice Springs , Central Aust.

Firstly I have to send respect to Combat Wombat (Combatwombat.org), as we recently shared a groove In Alice Springs. It was an experimental music night at The Promised Land a new hot, venue. The night started with a local muso jam, followed by The Infectious Project- solo as Russel Harding was in Adelaide . The mob chilled & flowed with grooves until Elf Tranzporter hit the mic up, busted a raga rhyme getting the place bouncing! The finale was s sing-a-long, such a warm feeling to hear these cats raise a vocal chord, awesome.

Next was Combat Wombat, a heavy duty hip-hop outfit from Melbourne , and did the place bounce…….b-boys & b-girls moved their bum till the ceiling dropped. If you ever have the opportunity, check out the crazy beats, conscious lyrics and the output of love that flows from this mob.

As for Solo Funk-Roots Bass, currently finishing some songs and planning to do a series of gigs in Adelaide at the end of September, Alice Springs in October & possibly a tour of Tasmania is in the pipe line early 07. Really looking forward to solo work as I have not done much since returning from Europe . In between I'm working out bush in The Northern Flinders Ranges Adnyamathanya Country and Ilkurlka, Spinifex Country

In other news the Liberal Government is hittin the Northern Territory with the next planned Nuclear Waste dump. Not a low-level dump as planned for South Australia a mid to high level dump. Currently sitting alone, at Ilkurlka in Western Australia, running one of the most remote roadhouses you could think of. Its the base for the internationally renowned Spinifex Arts Project (www.spinfex.org) in the middle of the Spinifex peoples Native title claim area (55000sqkms). From here I send all of you inspiration to create the reality you believe and live it. Be all you need to be, free from strife, free for life.

Since returning to ancient Australia from Germany, I have played a few roots gigs around little ol’ Adelaide town. While working on a new side project to my roots bass music. The ‘highest’light was a improv show at the Uni Markets with the Gypsy Harp of Lord Stompy, and the Spiritual Goodness of MC Ben ‘Jah’ Min . Stay tuned as it was all recorded so soon you can have a listen on the ‘dylanferguson myspace’ site.

In terms of the new stuff something big is happening, on the 31st of May. We will Launch………The “Infectious” Project; Featuring Russel Harding on congas and Djembe, myself with Vocals, Basses and Percussion. -All wrapped up in a high energy bundle fusing funk, African rhythm, reggae and one love, to infect your hips- Keep your eyes pealed for posters and flyers!
